Mobian foxes

The official biological name is Vulpes mobianis. Mobians of Mobiania are intelligent anthropomorphic foxes. The principal varieties are Red, Arctic and Silver; red foxes are the most common.

In the original history of Mobius, the general term Mobian covers intelligent species derived from various animals, birds and reptiles. For Mobian subjectship the Constitution imposes a specific restriction: only Mobian foxes may be subjects. The broader planetary meaning and the state-specific meaning must therefore be distinguished.

Mobian foxes have fur, a tail, front and back paws, fox ears and a snout. Hair and fur at the temples beneath the ears are an adaptation providing additional protection against cold. Size, colour, number of tails and physique are established separately for each fox.

Transfurmation is the scientific transformation into a Mobian. In the HOI4 Earth timeline it is applied, among others, to Earth inhabitants. After complete transfurmation, an individual is biologically Mobian; their origin does not make them a separate inferior subspecies.
