Culture of the Mobian Empire
The culture of the Mobian Empire comprises the symbols, honours, media and artistic works of the Mobian nation.
Contents
State symbols#
The state symbols are the flag, emblem and anthem. The Constitution provides for descriptions of the flag and emblem to be established by constitutional laws. The acts are titled On the State Flag of the Mobian Empire and On the State Emblem of the Mobian Empire. Decree 046 of 24/03/3243 confirms preparation of amendments to both laws.
The motto is The Family and the Law; its Russian equivalent means The Family and the Law. The national plant is melissa and the national drink Earl Grey with melissa. Bookman Old Style is the official typeface of Mobiania, Vox Vulpi and the Bank of Mobiania.
The exact legal description of the flag, including stripe order, colours, proportions and geometry, has not been recovered from the available laws. A full heraldic blazon of the emblem is also unavailable. These details are not replaced by guesses based on artistic images. Fox, crown and plant motifs are used in award symbolism.
Anthem#
The anthem's musical leitmotif is associated with Hydrocity Zone Act 2. An official orchestral interpretation exists; the theme is used in cultural works, including remixes. In the HOI4 mod, the relevant works belong to the Rhythm of the Fox music station.
Current confirmed chorus:
The only right regime
Unites within one team
The peasant and His Majesty -
Both loyal to legality.
“Long live you, Mobiania!” -
It's not some miscellanea.
A truly patriotic vulpi -
Such then we (all) should be!
Order of Melissa#
The Order of Melissa / Order of Melissa is Mobiania's highest state honour. Its name derives from the national plant melissa, not from the Empress's name. It is awarded by Imperial decree for exceptional civil or military service.
The established later visual concept has two classes:
| Class | Badge |
|---|---|
| I | Eight-pointed star; circular inscriptions THE FAMILY AND THE LAW / ORDER OF MELISSA; central crown or fox-head motif |
| II | Medal shaped as one symmetrical melissa leaf, on an orange-yellow moiré ribbon |
The crown and fox head in the central motif are not combined into one crowned head. The star is worn on the wearer's right chest, on the observer's left, beneath the lapel; the medal is worn on a ribbon. The historical wearing description in Decree 068 differs and is retained only as archival wording from its period.
Decree 068 of 28/03/3244 awarded Michael Zoyer, Oswald Foxwood, George Clifford, Adolf Foxwood and Justin Foxford. Decree 082 of 29/12/3245 removes Oswald Foxwood's honour. Separate approval of a new statute and new repeat awards have not been established.
Vox Vulpi#
Vox Vulpi / Voice of the Fox is state media. Decree 050 of 23/10/3243 established it as a newspaper, replacing the former State News format. The editorial office is required to report accurately on matters of public significance in Mobiania and other states. Leadership is assigned to the Emperor.
Decree 080 of 27/12/3245 reorganised the newspaper into a state media holding, its direct successor. Ownership belongs to the state; operations must cover at least two platforms. Melissa Prower joined the editorial office as the Emperor's deputy within the ISS.
For 28/12/3245, a video news bulletin of at least one minute and a newspaper of at least three pages were prescribed, covering 15/12/3245-28/12/3245. Setting the assignment does not confirm timely publication. Later work includes state support for publications, voice work and censored editions of materials.
Press and censorship#
The state press undergoes advance review for conformity with and promotion of constitutional ideas. The private press does not undergo general prior censorship, but a publication, its owners and responsible officials may be held accountable after publication for slander, insults to the state and society, or dissemination of anti-constitutional political or religious ideas.
Public discussion of authority is expected to be constructive; criticism is associated with proposing a solution. Rules for official platforms and state journalism must be distinguished from a prohibition on free external Internet access.
Adios Buenos#
Adios Buenos is a released propaganda documentary ultrashort film about the events of AgeMine, dedicated to the Empire's eighth anniversary. Its creator, director, producer and post-production author is Miles I Prower.
The film concerns the Mobian operation against communist Buenos Aires and subsequent action against Dublin. It uses a VHS documentary style, state symbolism, a map of South America and government publications. Its musical basis is a processed version of Hydrocity Act 2, the TheMobianFox Remix.
The film's events belong to 3243, while the eighth-anniversary dedication belongs to its commemorative presentation. These are different time references; the release date cannot be inferred automatically.
The Policeman of Old Foxvale#
The Policeman of Old Foxvale is a separate Mobian work of fiction. Its principal characters are Gregory Foxmail, an MIA operative connected with an inheritance in Old Foxvale; Major Victor Redford, his chief; and Brooke Tailsworth, a professionally reserved assistant. Subordination, professional surroundings and differences in character are important to their speech.
The series' plot events are not transferred into the state's political chronology. Indecent dialogue and comic scenes are not part of the historical chronicle. Its exact release status and complete episode list have not been established.
